2019 Studio Policies

Parking Street parking is available. While there are times of the day when spaces on the block are full, there are usually parking spaces within three blocks. The driveway is for house in the back. This can be used temporarily for pick up and drop off or for short lessons if we put a note on the car that it can be moved.

Schedule Lessons are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays by appointment only. No walk-ins available. I accept appointments that are weekly or every other week.

Lesson Length In person studio lessons are 55 minutes, 40 minutes and 27 minutes. Online lessons are 50 minutes.

Rates Lesson rates are based on when the student started lessons and length of lesson. Each year there is a Cost of Living rate increase of 2.5% rounded to the whole dollar.

Invoices Invoices will be distributed at the beginning of the month for the upcoming month’s lessons. Invoices are due upon receipt. For those who purchase 4 or more lessons in advance, a 5% discount is offered.

Payments Payment is expected at the time of the lesson. I accept cash, check, PayPal, and Venmo. Monthly invoices are due upon receipt, and have a 30 day term before any late fees are assessed. Once an invoice is past due, lessons may be subject to suspension until account is brought up to date.

Cancellations Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance of the lesson. If less than 24 hours notice is afforded, full payment is expected. Please do not come to a lesson if you are experiencing cold symptoms, a cough, a sore throat or fever. Students will not be charged for the lesson if I am notified 24 hours in advanced. This applies for both piano and vocal students. If a student or parent does not contact me ahead of time, the lesson will be charged for the full amount.

No Shows Two or more no shows for a weekly or every other week schedule will remove that student from the calendar.

Practicing In order to see improvement, regular practice is important. Setting aside a consistent time each day for practice will help students be successful. I offer tools to help students practice at home. These include practice logs, practice schedules, assignments, recordings of voice lessons, audio files of vocal exercises, and accompaniment for songs uploaded to Google Drive. While I record voice lessons to upload to Google Drive, voice students are encouraged to record their own lessons.
